Why Activate your Divvy Visa® Business cards?

We strive to provide a best-in-class experience for your business spend management. Divvy cards are core to this experience, so we’re rolling out Divvy Visa® Business cards.

As soon as you activate your new cards, you’ll be able to:

  • Use your card at your favorite locations, like Costco.

  • Pay faster and more safely with contactless payment, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

  • Enjoy a sleek, newly designed physical card.

As we continue to build, we’ll be adding things like:

  • More savings: In addition to our standard rewards program, you’ll be enrolled in the Visa Savings network—automatically.

  • Simplified disputes process: We do all we can to protect you from fraud, but if there is ever a fraudulent charge or a chargeback you need to dispute, the process is fast and painless.

  • Enhanced transaction data: We’ll be able to surface even more helpful transaction data and improve your visibility into spend.

  • Merchant specific controls: Set cards to only work in specific industries by limiting accepted MCCs, merchants, or locations.

FAQ’s

  1. How does activating work? What do I have to do? Our team members will be working through the activation process with you, so don’t fret. We’ll send new physical cards to all your spenders and have created in-product guides to help you shift over to the Divvy Visa Business cards.

  2. Why do I have to sign new documents? Because you will technically be opening a line with Visa, you will need to resign some documents and confirm your application information. We’ll be sending an updated application to your admin to sign. This is simply to review the information we have on file and make sure it's up to date.

  3. Will you ask me for more documents after I sign the application? It depends. If we need more information from you to finalize your application, we will reach out to you directly via email.

  4. How long will it take to complete my activation? We've created a step-by-step guide in Divvy, which makes the switch quite fast! The real determining factor on how long it takes is how long you need to move all your credit line over to Visa. We anticipate that it should not take more than 45 days. Worried you might need more time, we'll put together a plan with you. Here's a sample timeline:

  5. Will my current cards still work? Your physical card will continue to work until your new card arrives. Once you have activated your new card, the MasterCard will be deactivated and any further transactions on it will be declined. Your MC virtual cards will continue to work as is. We’ve created new VISA Virtual cards for you, when you have updated your merchants with the new card number and activated your VISA card, we will transfer the balance and deactivate your MC.

  6. Will my credit line change? Your overall credit line will not change. During the migration period we will split a portion of your credit line between Visa and MasterCard.

  7. Where will my new cards be sent? We will be asking your users to specify their preferred mailing address. Admins will be able to make any changes and send the cards whenever ready.

  8. Can you ship cards internationally? Not yet, but that's coming soon.

  9. When is my day to start the transition? This is on a case-by-case basis, but once you sign your application, we can start working on your specific date.

How to prepare

We’re making this process as seamless as possible, which means you’ll take most actions inside Divvy, with a product walk through. But, there are few things you can do to make the process go more smoothly before you start:

  • Edit your people: Take a moment to edit the people in your Divvy account. Now is a great time to remove any former employees, or users that no longer will be using Divvy.

  • Get rid of old virtual cards: Delete any virtual cards you are no longer using and will not be needing on Visa because we will be automatically generating new virtual cards for you.

  • Add DOB (date of birth) for all users: Encourage your team to update Divvy with both their DOB and preferred mailing address.

Once you’re ready, you can go into your Divvy account and the workflow will automatically take you through the steps to complete your transition. For a preview, keep reading!

Dashboard in Divvy

We’ve consolidated all of the required tasks into one simple dashboard.

From here, simply click on each tile to start that section of the transition. We will help you keep track of progress as you go and move towards the finalize date. In an effort to avoid any possible disruption, it will best to move your account over as quickly as possible, but you have roughly 45 days to fully transition. If you think you’ll need more time, feel free to let us know.

Enter birthdays

  • All active users will receive a prompt to enter their DOB on their next login

  • Admins can manually add in an employees DOB manually, or can be added in bulk.

Issue physical cards

  • All active employees will receive a prompt to enter their preferred shipping address. Employees can choose to ship their new card to a specified address, or the company shipping address on file

  • Admins will have a chance to review all users preferred address and make any changes as needed

  • Selecting ‘Don't Issue’ will not issue a new VISA card. If the user has an existing MasterCard it will be deactivated on the transition deadline

  • Once you are ready to send cards they can be sent one by one or in bull

Update your vendors

  • We have created a new VISA card for all currently active MasterCards in Divvy.

  • Click on the card to access existing MasterCard information as well as the new Divvy VISA card number

  • Update all merchants with the new card information

  • Select “activate”
