Not all businesses are approved for an unsecured line of credit right away. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have the tools to help you track your business spend and automate your accounting process. With Credit Builder, businesses can build credit by pre-funding a secured line of credit.

This program has no spend limits and allows you to build credit as you spend and make payments to Divvy.

Follow the steps below to get started with Credit Builder:

  1. Begin your application.

    On the Divvy website, click the Sign Up button.

2. Apply for the Credit Builder program.
When you begin the Divvy credit application, you will answer three questions about your business. Based on these answers, we will recommend either the Credit Builder program or the traditional Divvy program. Learn more about the differences between Credit Builder and the traditional Divvy program.

If we recommend Credit Builder, click the Apply for Credit Builder button.

If we recommend the traditional Divvy program, but you still want to apply for the Credit Builder program, click the start the Credit Builder application now link.

3. Check to make sure we don’t need any more documents to verify your business for the Divvy Credit Builder program.
We may request more documents to verify your business before creating a Divvy account for you. You should receive an email if more documents are needed, but in case you miss it, here’s how to check if more documents are needed:

1. Go to https://apply.divvy.co/auth

2. Enter your business email into the box provided. Be sure not to click “login”.

3. Enter the code that was sent to your email

4. Arrive to your Dashboard and see requested documents

5. Upload the document(s)

4. Create your account!
You’ll receive an email prompting you to create a login for Divvy. Follow the email’s instructions and set up your account with Divvy. If you have not received this email, please reach out to [email protected].

5. Preload your card(s) with funds.
Upload funds onto your Divvy cards via Wire or ACH transfer and then spend as you wish. See instructions on how here. There is no maximum amount for you to load your card with, but we ask that there be at least $1 loaded at all times.

Please note: It may take 3-5 business days for your funds to process and be available in your Divvy account to spend.

6. Create a budget and virtual cards.

Credit Builder accounts do not have budgets or virtual cards automatically created for them. Before you can spend, you must create a budget and allocate funds and users to that budget. You can also create virtual cards to make spending even easier.

7. Take advantage of Divvy software.
