If you have created budget rules or merchant rules in your Divvy account, you can edit and delete those rules. This lesson displays how to manage automation rules in a web browser and the Divvy mobile app.

  1. In the Navigation Menu, click the Settings link [1]. Then click the Transactions link [2].

2. If you have automation rules, locate the Automation Rules section [1]. Then click the View link [2].

3. View the Automation Rules page. To view your budget rules, click the Budget rules tab [1]. To view your merchant rules, click the Merchant rules tab [2].

To add a new budget rule or new merchant rule, click the Add New button [3].

To view or edit a rule, click the name of the rule [4].

4. When editing a budget rule, you can edit the custom field selections for the rule. To select the custom field option that will be applied for transactions in that budget, click the custom field drop-down menu and select the option [1]. To save your changes, click the Save button [2].

To delete the budget rule, click the Delete button [3].

5. When editing a merchant rule, you can edit merchant name settings [1], selected budget(s) [2], and custom field options [3]. To save your changes, click the Save button [4].

To delete the merchant rule, click the Delete button [5].

6. You can also edit the prioritization of merchant rules in the Merchant Rules tab [1]. You can prioritize merchant rules so Divvy will apply higher priority rules before lower priority rules. For example, you may want to give a higher priority to a rule that exactly matches a merchant name over a rule that contains the same merchant name.

To adjust the priority for a rule, click the Move icon for the rule and drag and drop the rule to your desired location [2]. You can also click the Priority field for the rule and enter the priority number.

Mobile

  1. In the Navigation Menu, tap the More link.

2. Tap the Automation Rules link.

3. View the Automation Rules page. To view your budget rules, tap the Budget rules tab [1]. To view your merchant rules, tap the Merchant rules tab [2].

To add a new budget rule or new merchant rule, tap the Add New link [3].

To view or edit a rule, tap the name of the rule [4].

4. When editing a budget rule, you can edit the custom field selections for the rule. To select the custom field option that will be applied for transactions in that budget, tap the custom field and select the option [1]. All changes are saved automatically.

To delete the budget rule, tap the Delete button [2].

5. When editing a merchant rule, you can edit merchant name settings [1]. To edit select budgets and custom field selections, tap the name of the budget [2]. To add a budget to the merchant rule, tap the Add a budget link [3].

To delete the merchant rule, click the Delete rule button [4].
