If you have just created a new Credit Builder account, you can set yourself up for success with Divvy by following the checklist below.

1. Download the Mobile App

Your Divvy Credit Builder account can be accessed from a web browser or the Divvy mobile app on iOS and Android. While some administrative settings can only be managed from the web, you can access most of Divvy’s features using the mobile app. Use the buttons below to download the mobile app on iOS or Android. Make sure you tell your cardholder employees to do the same.

2. Add Funds to Your Credit Line

Credit Builder credit lines are pre-funded, which means you’ll need to add funds to your account before spending on your cards. You can pre-fund your line of credit by using the payment portal within Divvy or creating a wire transfer or ACH payment through your financial institution. Learn how to fund your Credit Builder credit line.

3. Create and Assign Budgets

Once funds have been added to your account, you will need to create a budget in order to spend from those funds. Think of this like driving your car. You’ve added gas to your car by adding funds, but now you’ll need your keys (i.e., budgets) in order to start driving!

You can adjust your budgets to adapt to your spending needs and exercise more control over your spending. Understand how budgets work and how to set them up in this help article.

4. Create Virtual Cards

When you created your account, a physical card was ordered for you. But you don’t need to wait for your physical card to start spending. With Divvy virtual cards, you can start spending right away.

Virtual cards are great for vendor subscriptions and other types of recurring spend. Divvy customers love virtual cards because they can easily replace a card that has been compromised. They are also a quick way to see how Divvy works for the first time.

5. Order & Activate Physical Cards

A physical card was ordered for you when your account was created, but you can order additional cards for any other users that have been added to your account or replacement cards for existing users. Learn how to order cards and check the shipping status of existing card orders.

Just like any business card, you need to activate your card before you start using it. Follow the steps in this article to learn how to activate your own physical card. You can also activate cards for other cardholders in your Divvy account.

6. Add and Edit People

Any employee who needs to spend money or submit expenses for reimbursement should be a Divvy user. You can also assign admin and bookkeeper roles to users who you would like to give additional permissions within Divvy. Remember, your employees can’t spend unless you add them to a budget. To learn how to add people to Divvy, check out this help article.

Once you have added people to Divvy, you can also make edits to these users. Admins can edit users' personal information, role, and mailing address for physical card orders. Learn how to edit a user's details in Divvy.

7. Categorize Transactions

After users start spending in Divvy, you will want to learn how to view and categorize transactions. View these articles to learn more about transactions in Divvy.
